Read MoreThiagis Tweets: Flourishing from Feedback
Every day, Thiagi tweets ready-to-use pieces of practical advice on different topics such as facilitation, listening skills, communication, leadership, productivity, training, and management.
Here are some recent pieces of advice about flourishing from feedback that were re-tweeted frequently:
- When you receive feedback, separate your emotional reaction from logical analysis. Don’t let emotion hijack logic.
- Accept, welcome, and learn from mistakes. Use feedback to make learning from mistakes a normal part of your growth.
- Listen to constructive feedback with an open mind. Don’t automatically ignore, deny, argue, or question what the other person is saying.
- You reject feedback that is untrue and inaccurate. Instead, accept it, pretending it is true and accurate. See what happens.
- Feedback is based on the impact, not on the intent. Only you know your intent. The other person knows only the impact.
- Feedback often requires you to change your behavior. You resist the feedback because you resist change.
