Cross the Circle

This activity provides a playful way for the participants to find commonalities among themselves.

Purpose

To identify the participants who might have done certain activities.

Participants

  • Minimum: 5

  • Maximum: Any number divided into groups 10 to 12

  • Best: 10

Time

10 to 20 minutes

Flow

Seat the participants in a circle of chairs. Ask one of the participants to leave their chair and go and stand in the center of the circle.

The person in the center names something the participants might have done (examples: carpooling, playing a musical instrument, or working in the company for more than 5 years).

Any participant with the answer “Yes” crosses the circle and sits in a vacant chair.

The participant in the center also finds a chair left open by someone who answered “yes” to the question.

A new person is left without a chair. This person now stands in the middle of circle. They ask a new question about something else that the participants might have done. The game continues as before.

After a suitable number of rounds, conclude the game.
