We have scheduled a bunch of Live Online Training programs over the coming months. All are delivered via Zoom. All of the programs are full-day sessions. Times are set to New York. Each link will take you to a description with dates, times, price, & registration. Hope to see you there!
1️⃣ THIAGI’S TOP TEN TRAINING ACTIVITIES (February 18: 06:00 AM- 02:00 PM EST)
Thiagi and Matthew Richter have been designing and delivering training activities for the past 20 years. Rather than specializing on one type of activities, they experiment with different types in order meet the needs and preferences of different training objectives and participants.
Some of these activities are card games. Some are board games. Some are simulations and roleplays. These activities accommodate different numbers of players from 1 to 100. The time required for the activities range from 5 minutes to 5 weeks. These games have been field tested in corporate settings around the world to train people on principles and procedures related to technical training, management training, leadership development, and sales training.
All these training games have two features: Once you learn to design and conduct the game that deals with a specific topic, you can use the structure of the same game to work with other topics. All the games are designed to be facilitated easily and modified to suit the local constraints, resources, and requirements.
This 1-day, virtual workshop, delivered using ZOOM, features ten different training games— the ten best. How do we know they are the best? Because our clients, our customers, and our own facilitators have told us. Some of these activities can be used to teach deadly, dull, boring content. All incorporate built-in needs analysis, letting the facilitator know what level of expertise and experience the participants should have.
During the program, we will use the same activities we are providing you to teach many important concepts and skills related activity-based instruction. By the end of the day, you will learn to
Select the most appropriate type of activity
Facilitate this activity with your own participants
Adapt the activities to meet your training objectives
Modify the activities based on logistical constraints and learner needs
2️⃣ JOLTS: WAKE UP AND ENGAGE YOUR PARTICIPANTS (February 25, 2021: 06:00 AM- 02:00 PM EDT)
A jolt is a brief experiential activity that delivers a wake-up call to the participants. The impact of a jolt forces the participants to re-examine their assumptions and change their behaviors. This live online workshop will demonstrate our collection of powerful jolts, each lasting for a few minutes but providing insights for lengthy debriefing and lifelong application. Through a hands-on approach, you will also learn how to select, conduct, and debrief this innovative training tool. Heck… we will even share with you the secret for creating your own jolts!
GOAL
Improve the instructional and motivational effectiveness of your training through short experiential activities followed by reflection and discussion.
Demonstrate a positive attitude toward the appropriate use of jolts as a flexible training tool.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
Participate. Experience a variety of powerful jolts that enable the achievement of interpersonal principles and procedures.
Define. Identify the critical features of jolts and explain their instructional and motivational effectiveness.
Select and adapt. Identify training situations that lend themselves to the use of jolts. Select suitable jolts for these situations. Modify the jolts and debriefing questions to better suit your needs, resources, and constraints.
Conduct. Get ready for the effective use of jolts in a training session. Conduct the jolts in an efficient and engaging fashion. Maximize learning application through debriefing discussions.
Debrief. Use suitable debriefing questions and activities for reflecting on the jolt experience and sharing insights with each other.

4️⃣ HOW TO SPECIFY AND ACHIEVE AFFECTIVE OBJECTIVES IN TRAINING (March 11, 2021: 06:00 AM- 02:00 PM EST)
Trainers and managers have a slightly negative attitude toward changing the attitudes of learners and team members. Their hesitation is due to the feeling that specifying and achieving affective objectives requires complex competencies far beyond what are used in typical training and coaching techniques. However, as this workshop will demonstrate, the basic principles of persuasion and motivation can be easily acquired and applied through a series of hands-on training activities.
HOW WILL YOU BENEFIT FROM THIS WORKSHOP?
After completing this workshop and the follow-up activities, you will plan and implement effective strategies for specifying and achieving affective objectives related to training topics and workplace results.
WHAT SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE WILL YOU ACQUIRE FROM THIS WORKSHOP?
Specify different types of affective objectives related to training topics, workplace practices, and organizational values.
Construct suitable instruments for reliably measuring the achievement of affective objectives.
Identify indicators of positive affective objectives by conducting goal analysis.
Specify different types of affective objectives related to different levels in the taxonomy.

6️⃣ THE INTERACTIVE TECHNIQUES FOR IMPROVED LEARNING CONFERENCE (March 23-25, 2021)
OVERVIEW
Interactive techniques refers to the use of activities when delivering training. Activities may include simulations, jolts (see an entire conference session on Jolts), interactive lectures, structured sharing, games, and many more. So, ITIL will equip you with strategies to make your training/teaching interventions more interactive, engaging, and effective. Each session is 75 minutes long and brings you tested and relevant elements. This conference is dedicated to the design of activities, their delivery, and the overall evaluation of your training package. Our hope is you will leave the conference with an improved toolkit containing interactive approaches you can leverage immediately in your own trainings, strategies for better instructional design, and templates and best practices for evaluating your work before, during, and after your programs.
